Edward is an experienced European and UK Patent Attorney as well as a qualified solicitor, focussed on software, natural language processing and AI. He works as a Senior IP Attorney with Deep Render, a company developing the next generation of compression technology using AI. He is also the co-founder of Added Matter, a start-up using generative AI to transform patent work. Prior to that, Edward spent almost a decade in private practice, including at Marks & Clerk. Outside Deep Render and Added Matter, Edward spends most of his spare time training open-source language models and curating patent-focused datasets, and is an all-round AI evangelist. Edward has a degree in physics from Bristol University.
