Thomas Glischke has more than 15 years experience in consulting and auditing financial institutions. Thomas works primarily in the areas of accounting for financial instruments (IFRS and German GAAP), pricing of financial instruments and quantitative risk measurement. Thomas has worked as a project manager for several projects, including big transformation projects like IFRS 9 implementations. Thomas studied at the TU Berlin and the University of Texas at Austin and holds a diploma in Business Mathematics. He regularly publishes research papers on topics of accounting for financial instruments and risk management.

Dr. Muriel Schulte has 15 years of professional experience in advising and auditing HGB and IFRS as well as regulatory requirements in the finance function. Before joining Deloitte, she worked at both Accenture and KPMG and gained deep insights into audit processes. Muriel's focus is on the definition, implementation and auditing of HGB, IFRS and NFRD processes and reports as well as the implementation of regulatory reporting requirements. She is part of the ESG focus group responsible for developing ESG topics within Deloitte and is a Certified Expert in Sustainable Finance at the Frankfurt School Sustainable World Academy.
Stephan Scholz

Stephan Scholz has more than ten years of experience in auditing and advisory for financial services clients, mainly banking institutions.As part of the FSI Accounting & Regulatory Advisory offering, his primary topics being risk management for financial institutions, sustainability matters in the financial sector and associated accounting-related issues. He also supports regulatory and risk management audits with a focus on liquidity risk management. Further experience includes transaction advisory, the implementation of supervisory requirements (e.g. FinRep), the introduction of IFRS standards and (financial) due diligence.

The online seminar "Bank Accounting" provides an in-depth look at both the current and new accounting standards for banks under the German Commercial Code (HGB) and at special features of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including sustainability reporting.
In the morning participants will start with a concise overview of the fundamental regulations and then explore specific issues and challenges in accounting under the German Commercial Code (HGB). In the afternoon, you will learn special features of current and upcoming principles of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), such as IFRS 9, IFRS 13, IFRS 18. In addition to that, you will get an overview on current and upcoming issues regarding sustainability reporting.
The material will be presented primarily through practical examples drawn from HGB and IFRS financial statements.
